FAIRLEY Jack (23 May 2004 Aged 83)

Jack enlisted in 107 (Howitzer) Battery 7th Field Brigade RAA (Militia) in 1938.

On the Brigade becoming 7th Field Regiment RAA (M) in 1941, he transferred to 26 Field Battery.

Following the disbandment of 7th Australian Field Regiment (
AIF) on 17 November 1943, Jack was transferred to 2/43rd Infantry Battalion AIF.

In 1945 he was seriously wounded in action in
Borneo. At his Thanksgiving Service on 2 June, five members of his Battalion attended including the RMO who treated him.

Jack was discharged from the AIF in April 1946. His whole Military service was as a Private Soldier.

In later years he became State President, Treasurer and National Vice President of the Australian Legion of Ex-Servicemen and Women. He was a Life Member of Willoughby Sub-Branch.
Jack was a founding member of Willoughby Legion Ex-Services Club, being on of the leading lights in the building of the Club. A long serving member of the Board, holding positions of Treasurer from 1958 to 1992 and a Director from 1995 to 1999. Life membership was conferred in the 1960's.

He was also Past President of the Willoughby Legion Bowling and Recreation Club.

 

 FISCHER  Henry Francis ( 4 August 1992  aged 76)

 

 Henry enlisted in the AIF on 21 December 1939, joining 2/1st AGH transferring to 2/1st Field Regiment in the Middle East and was discharged on 11 December 1945 as a Gunner.

 

 

FORSYTH James Allan Kendall (Jim) 5 December 1999 Aged 81

Jim joined 7th Field Brigade RAA (Militia) in 1936 and was commissioned on 29 April 1940.

On transfer to the AIF on 1 November 1940, he was posted to "A" Troop, 17 Battery,2/9th  Army Field Regiment AIF, being promoted to Captain on I0 December 1942.

On 15 November 1945, Jim was placed on the Reserve of Officers (RAA) (2 Military District)
